The First Annual Timmy’s
Dog
Wash was held at the Weston
Veterinary Clinic on June
26. Sponsored by Paws by Roz and Ain’t Misbehavin’, a dog
training service, the dog wash proceeds went to Timmy, a very sweet,
but ailing 9-year-old greyhound with a blood clot in his heart.
Proceeds also went to the out-of-work greyhounds ...

...from the closing of the Plainsville, CT, greyhound
racing track. All told, about 80 dogs came to be rinsed,
scrubbed with aromatic shampoos donated by Pet Supplies Plus and
dried off. Local businesses donated gift certificates for a raffle.
We raised over $1300. And, bottom line, dog owners,
dogs and the more than a dozen volunteers all had a lot of FUN!

I don't know if I'd call this being
pampered?
Next year we hope to get corporate sponsorship. We're
also scouting around for another dog and non-profit animal
organization in need. And we will need volunteers! Watch this site
